You're the first person who has spoken of a coon hound that I've run across. My dad used to own coon hounds. Beagles and Bluetick hounds. He would purchase them as puppies (we couldn't play with them) and trained them to hunt raccoons. I remember going with him once and falling asleep. The season for hunting raccoons was in the late October through the coldest months and at night. I don't remember much about going with him except that he had to carry me. I woke up once while he was carrying me under some barbed wire fencing. HAH I must have been around 7 years old. I'm sure it was very tiring for him to drag me with him only to end up carrying me. HAH This brings back so many memories.
They've made mine brighter too ;-) Anya, I write 'by invitation' posts as part of a blogging venture and the post this month is to highlight a blog you admire...and I've chosen yours...can I highlight some of your photography on the post, please?
