Ikea Stockholm collection

09/04/2013

Ohh I am a fan - of anything those clever people from Ikea get up to! Remember 10-15 years ago, where everybody bought their stuff from Ikea, but no one talked about it - wasn't hip really. Didn't have the design appeal they do now right? Today everybody still buy their stuff from Ikea, but then they mix it up, hack it, or take it as it comes. Their Stockholm collection is a favorite of mine. Pricier, but worth it:

  1. They do have natty design, but the quality of most of their stuff (except their kitchens which are brilliant) has definitely gone downhill here in Australia. I do suspect they sneakily build it to a lower standard for sale here though, because they think they can get away with it, or has it also changed in Denmark too? xx

  3. Nothing wrong with a bit of IKEA, I have some of their stuff in my home and think it mixes well with other pieces. I'm just waiting for them to bring back the meat balls... ;-)

  4. Beautiful selection! I really like the last photo, just wonderful and feels very relaxing. Must admit, I do like some Ikea, although haven't bought anything from there for ages. I think it's a brilliant place for accents and bits and pieces to compliment the overall look and it really is a wonderful place to shop for young couples who want something stylish on a budget. x

  6. Here, somehow, the hype is going downhill... they really lowered standards thinking it's cheap and they won't notice. But people did. And contrary to what some might think when there's a crisis it's time to invest in really good pieces - lasting pieces - because you don't know how long it will last but assume it will be long.

Personally I have lots of stuff from them. My kitchen is from IKEA, for example. Kids' rooms have several pieces. It was an inovative concept - the Nordic look - and I loved it almost more than kids ahahahahah

Their Stockholm collection is a step above - in quality and design - but too expensive in my opinion. I Love that chair, though. And dream of one in my home office. Dreams are Priceless, right?! ;)
