Sophienholm {Copenhagen Guide}

28/10/2013

10 minutes from where we live is the most amazing place called SOPHIENHOLM on the shores of Lake Bagsværd. I have visited this place ever since I was a child, and often with a picnic. It is one of the most beautiful and hyggelige places to visit, all year round. Today it is one of our favourite destinations with the girls, as there is always so much to see. Autumn holds a special place in our hearts and today was mild, sunny and perfect.

Sopenhienholm was built in 1768 by by Theodor Holmskjold, director-in-chief of the Danish Postal Services, in honour of his wife Sophie Holm. Today Sophienholm is an exhibition hall, owned by Lyngby-Taarbæk town council. Situated in a beautiful park overlooking Lake Bagsværd and annually hosting four or five major art exhibitions it attracts visitors mainly from the Greater Copenhagen area.

  10. Anya,

    How adorable the photos are! The girls look so cute and make beautiful models! I can see that autumn has arrived, with all the leaves falling and the gorgeous colors this time of the year. It must be fairly chilly as I notice the girls are wearing their coats and leggings. Great pics!!
