Anti Valentine

04/02/2015

I know you have all been waiting for this post - my annual Anti Valentines Post. Not that there is anything wrong with Valentines day - I love flowers and a box of chocolate as much as the next girl, but I do feel that tokens of love and appreciation should be displayed any day of the year, not just because it's Valentines day. Saying that, I'd be delighted if the Mr. remembered for once :)

Is Valentines day a big thing where you are from? We have adopted this tradition here in Denmark, so yes there well be flowers, teddies and chocolate galore.

And don't fret if you love a bit of pink and red, I'll be sure to post something for you too. Happy Wednesday folks.

  1. Hahaha!! These are amazing! Love the 'love hearts' one the best :) Happy Anti-V Day and yes, I'm exactly the same as you - don't celebrate it, probably never will (although yes, it would be nice if my OH brought home flowers a little more often than he does lol) xxx

  2. Not into Valentine's either. Like you, I believe that love and appreciation are best expressed on a daily basis. I don't think it's a big idea here in the UK, but where I'm originally fro, (the Philippines), we (not me though) look forward to it. I remember there was an annual event hosted by a toothpaste brand called 'Loveapalooza' if I'm not mistaken, where hundreds, maybe even thousands of couples, gathered in a major stretch of road by Manila to kiss at sunset. That's how it's taken seriously there. Not for me, but I'm sure if I had Instagram then, it would have been a nice post. Happy V :)

    1. I think that's interesting - guess we are more 'demure' in our approach to love here in the cold north, but a card and some roses still go a long way :-)

  3. That mug is priceless! HAHAHA I understand Anya! Here in the USA everything is commercial. Too much!

    1. Ha ha - yes I think the mug is funny too. I think everywhere things are being commercialised -money makes the world go around -or so they say ,-)

  6. Of course Valentine's stops by every year in my Country.
And they there are hearts enough for you to feel encouraged to donor your own and get over with it ahahahah
It's a kind of gaudy celebration isn't it? I know for sure that I start hating red and pink for a while.
I don't do anything special. Most years the date falls on the beginning of Lent so it adds to the irk, in my case... And since I celebrate love whenever is possible I don't feel the need to mark a special day for it or heart shaped things for it.
I love that first card. When someone finishes reading it is laughing so much that won't need much more love :)
Wishing you Love on valentine's AND ALWAYS.

  7. LOVE your yearly Anti-Valentine post! Just brilliant.
My favourite has to be the 'Love stinks' card... just fabulous.

Don't like VD, but have ordered the BF to come over and we'll end up going to the cinema. That's it.
    Happy weekend sweets xx
